Support the Cape Playhouse - Sponsor an Iconic Lamp Post!
We invite you to join us in keeping our campus bright and cheery during the upcoming holiday season by sponsoring one of our 32 lamp posts as part of ILLUME! a festival of holiday lights.
From December 3 to January 6, the public can enjoy an old-fashioned holiday experience of viewing outdoor seasonal decorations from the comfort of their car or a leisurely walk through the 22-acre campus off historic Route 6A.
The iconic converted kerosene lamp posts that grace the property will be dressed in full greenery regalia – and there will be the first ever Christmas tree to stand proud in front of the Playhouse entrance – as a symbol of light and hope for a brilliant 2022 season!
The kerosene lamps were purchased by Raymond Moore, The Cape Playhouse founder, from the town of Orleans when they converted to electric lights. Moore placed them along the drives of the campus from as early as 1930 and hired a gentleman to light them every evening at dusk. The lamp posts have been an intrinsic feature of the campus grounds since.
We'll decorate a lamp post in your honor!
As a special thank you, you'll receive a family invitation to our campus lighting event on December 11th.
