How To Buy Tickets

The off-season Box Office is located in our Business Office. The Business Office is the cape-style cottage located along the edge of the main parking lot on the way to the Cinema and Museum.

Online

From this website, choose your performance and seats and complete your purchase.

CAUTION! Third party ticket resellers masquerade as us and try to entice you to purchase. Their ticket prices are often many times in excess of face value and include exorbitant fees. If anything about your purchase doesn’t feel right, do not complete the purchase and call our Box Office at 508.385.3911. We want your purchase to be fraud free.

Ticketing Policies

Refunds

The Cape Playhouse does not offer refunds on any purchases. Before purchasing tickets, carefully review your event and seat choices. If an error has been made or you are unable to use your tickets, you may contact the Box Office to see if your ticket can be donated back to the Playhouse as a tax-deductible gift or if your purchase is entitled to exchange privileges.

Exchanges

All exchanges must be made at least 48 hours in advance of performance and are subject to a $10 fee per ticket.

  • Subscribers are entitled to one free exchange per show for another performance of the same show as long as the exchange is requested at least 48 hours prior to their scheduled performance. Exchanges can be made anytime after single tickets go on sale to the public.
  • If you are unable to identify a date to which you would like to exchange your tickets, the value of the tickets may be converted to a patron credit less a $10 fee per ticket.
  • All transactions are final and are non-returnable or refundable.

Donations

Tickets may be donated back to the Playhouse as a tax-deductible gift when the office receives at least 48 hours notice. The ticket price (less fees) is tax deductible.

Discounted Tickets

Discounted tickets available for groups, military personnel, and young people can be found on our Discount Tickets page. Ticket discounts cannot be retroactively applied to any purchase. Multiple discounts cannot be applied to the same ticket order. Discounts cannot be applied to subscription or flex pass purchases and are only valid for the purchase of individual tickets. Discounts are applied to the individual ticket price on the day of purchase. Discounts must be requested prior to purchase and cannot be applied retroactively for previous purchases.

Ticketing

All tickets will be sent in the form of digital eTickets one week prior to your scheduled performance. eTickets can be printed, downloaded or added to your phone’s digital wallet for easy access. While not required for entry, if you prefer traditional printed tickets, please visit the box office at least 30 minutes prior to your performance to request.

A $3.50 processing fee applies to all ticket purchases regardless of purchase method and covers our ticket software servicing fees.

There is a $6 restoration fee applied to all individual and group ticket sales, a $15 restoration fee is applied to flex pass packages, and a $20 restoration fee is applied to full season subscription purchases. This fee helps to maintain our historic theater and preserve our legacy as the longest running summer theater in the United States.

All ticketing fees are non-refundable.

Gift Certificate

To use your gift certificate:

If your gift certificate was purchased prior to 2026 and contains a code comprised of 16 alphanumeric digits separated by dashes, please enter the claim code without the dashes.

If your gift certificate was purchased in 2026 or later, please enter the certificate number as it appears, including dash.

Once entered, the gift certificate will show the value available to apply to the order. Please retain any gift certificates with remaining value so you have the code to apply to a future order.

 

PLEASE NOTE: you no longer need to register your gift certificate in order to apply the balance to your purchase. Registration was part of our previous system and is no longer applicable starting in January 2026. Simply enter the code in the gift certificate field at checkout and the available balance is shown to apply.

Late Arrivals

We do not issue refunds, exchanges, or gift cards due to late arrivals. Late guests will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager when there is an appropriate break in the performance and seats available that will not disturb the performers or other patrons.

Babes In Arms

All permitted children must have a ticket.
Children under the age of five are not permitted in the theatre for mainstage shows or Playhouse Presents performances.

Rescheduled Performances

In the event that a performance is rescheduled or canceled, the box office will make every effort to contact affected patrons using the contact information provided on your account. We will do our best to help you move your tickets to another performance during the season or will issue you a patron credit for the value of your tickets with no expiration date.

Please note that we can only contact the original party who made the purchase. If you have purchased tickets for someone else it will be your responsibility to notify them.
