Backstage TheaterArts Internships

Cape Cod Center for the Arts’

       Technical Theater Arts Training Program

          at the Cape Playhouse

The “magic” of theater is the result of rigorous planning, hard work, and the finely honed skills of artisans and designers. This program trains interns and staff on the technical process of mounting a stage play.

The program teaches the skills necessary to work in a theater company’s major production departments — set, prop, costume, makeup, lighting, and sound. Practical experience along with hands-on training on everything from painting techniques, flats and bracing, and quick changeovers to hand props, rigging, and mic placement at an extraordinary educational venue (the Cape Playhouse – the oldest professional summer theater in America) makes this a premiere theatrical education program.
