From backwater jazz clubs to Hollywood soundstages, Louis Armstrong’s gravelly voice
and trumpet artistry helped send songs like “Mack the Knife,” “What a Wonderful World,” “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” and “Hello Dolly” to the top of the charts.
This musical valentine to the incomparable Satchmo stars Cape Playhouse favorite
(Inherit the Wind) and three-time Tony nominee Andre De Shields.
Choreographed by Mercedes Ellington and directed by Laurence Maslon, creator of the hit PBS series “Broadway the American Musical,” this promises to be a hand-clapping celebration of the man proclaimed America’s official “Ambassador of Goodwill.”
So join the line as “Satch” comes marching in!
