SUMMER 2021

William Templeton

Dear Subscribers and Friends,

As Chair of the Board of Trustees, I’m writing to thank you for your ongoing support and to tell you a little about what to expect from us in the months ahead.

Our current plans feature two shows that celebrate the return of Broadway talent to an outdoor stage during the months of July and August. We also hope to host a unique benefit concert, so please Save the Date of July 31st for an evening with the stars, under the stars.

As public health conditions improve and the outlook for the future brightens, I am confident that we are well-positioned for the upcoming summer season and we look forward to bringing you  joyous live performances on our historic campus.

Naturally, the health and well-being of our staff, crew, performing artists, and of course you – our devoted patrons – will be our paramount consideration and guide in every decision we make.

Additionally, we have begun a comprehensive Master Planning process that will be completed by mid-summer. Our goal is to envision the future needs of the Playhouse and our campus, in anticipation of our 100th anniversary celebrations beginning in 2026. We will look forward to sharing the results of this process with you in the near future.

In the coming weeks you will hear more about our summer shows.  In the meantime, I want you to know that we at the Playhouse are determined to emerge from the pandemic stronger, and I am hugely optimistic about the months and years ahead.  We have a devoted Board of Trustees and an exceedingly capable staff as Nora Carey and Joe Grandy continue to work tirelessly to keep the “ghost light” glowing.

On behalf of all of us, thank you once again for your generous support of the Cape Playhouse, particularly through these past months of the pandemic.

We look forward to your return to our campus this summer.
