D’Ambrose Boyd is delighted to be performing at the renowned Cape Playhouse and excited to be working again with the incredible director Jim Weaver. As a performer, he has shared the stage with such luminaries as Mickey Rooney, Ken Page, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Frank Langella, and the late Eartha Kitt just to name a few. He has performed on the boards of many Broadway, Off-Broadway, Regional and European Theaters, and can be heard on cast recordings, voice-overs, and commercial industrials. As an educating artist, D’Ambrose has worked at Symphony Space for over twelve years and has performed in their Wall to Wall: Broadway Concert Series conducted by Paul Gemignani. Jennifer Fouché, a proud native of Detroit, is a member of the critically acclaimed Amoralists Theatre Company, as well as a past member of the Flea Theatre's resident acting company, The Bats. Some regional and Off Broadway credits include: Hamlet, Hairspray, Little Shop of Horrors, The Flea Theatre's critically acclaimed Kaspar Hause, Babes In Toyland at Lincoln Center, A Hatful of Rain, Julius Caesar, Dirty Little Black Girls, Amerissiah, Bring Us the Head of Your Daughter and Freedom Train (national tour). Jennifer has also worked in film, voice over and television. She is currently starring in the Off Broadway hit, SISTAS: The Musical and her one-woman show, "ANONYMOUS", is slated for production next fall. JOY LYNN MATTHEWS-JACOBS Oh so Happy to be spreadin' rhythm round in Ain't Misbehavin' once again! Most recently seen in Oklahoma as Aunt Eller and before that featured in Kurt Weil’s, Lost in the Stars for the Encores series at New York City Center. Truly blessed to have performed on Broadway: The Music Man, Marie Christine. First National Tours: Ragtime, Show Boat. Off Broadway: Created the role of Power Woman in Menopause the Musical; Manhattan Theater Clubs - Our Leading Lady, Created the role of Delia in Asylum-The Strange Case of Mary Lincoln. Regional: Bloody Mary in South Pacific, Sylvia in All Shook Up, Wanda in Crowns, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Lady Thiang in The King & I, Aldonza in Man of La Mancha, to name a very few. Opera: Carmen. Film: “Menace II Society”, and busy Soloist with symphonies great and small all across the country, etc., and so on!
TRACEY CONYER LEE is so thrilled to revisit Charlayne with Jim for a second summer. She has had four of her plays produced, including her solo show, Standing Up: Bathroom Talk & Other Stuff We Learn From Dad in 2010's New York International Fringe Festival. Acting highlights include roles at Weston Playhouse, Actors Theatre of Louisville, St. Louis Rep, Cinncinati Playhouse, Florida Stage, Laguna Playhouse, TheatreWorks, Delaware Theatre, Westport Playhouse, Merrimack Rep, Virginia Stage, Ogunquit Playhouse, Great Lakes, Interact, many others, on tour nationally and abroad, several independent films, “SMASH, Ed” recurring roles on “L&O: Criminal Intent”, “All My Children” & “Guiding Light” She will promptly return to the off-Broadway musical hit SISTAS in which she stars as Gloria. www.traceyconyerlee.com
JIM WEAVER (Director) (Director/Choreographer) is delighted to be working with the Cape Playhouse on Ain’t Misbehavin’, one of his favorite shows. Included in his body of work are productions of A Raisin in the Sun and The Hi-De-Ho Man, Cab Calloway for the West coast Black Theatre Troupe in Sarasota, Florida, Fences and A Soldier’s Play at The Historic Asolo Theatre in Florida, Ragtime for Kent State University (Guest Artist), Gilbert & Sullivan’s-The Mikado and The All Night Strut at The American Stage Festival, Five Guys named Moe, Little Shop of Horrors, Floyd Collins and One on this Island at the Weston Playhouse, Junkanoo Drums at Lincoln Center (New York), Guys and Dolls for the Fine Arts Association and of course Ain’t Misbehavin’ at Maine State Music Theatre, American Stage Company, Bay Street Theatre, Weston Playhouse and others. Internationally he has directed works seen in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France and Austria.
DARIUS FROWNER (Musical Director) is very pleased to be returning to the Cape Playhouse! In New York City, Darius is a musical director and pianist and works with everyone from talented youth to Broadway performers. He is the musical supervisor for the performing arts school at The Mayo Center where he teaches musical theater classes. Darius is also a pianist at The Duplex Cabaret in Greenwich Village, which attracts international tourists, as well as local talent. You can find him there playing until the wee hours on Monday and Thursday nights. He often plays piano for Broadway casting directors as well as leading performers such as Rita Moreno and Norm Lewis (Porgy and Bess), including Norm's concert at Kennedy Center. Ain't Misbehavin' has taken Darius around the country and the world, including The Dallas Theater Center and the Perugia Jazz Festival in Italy. Other shows as musical director include A Chorus Line, Spelling Bee, Once On This Island and Grease. Enjoy the show!
